Dr.
Murali G. Murty
joined Arizona Breast Cancer Specialists after practicing breast specific as well general radiotherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery at AOS in Phoenix and Central Indiana Cancer Centers in Indianapolis. He has trained extensively and done research in the treatment of breast cancer including whole breast and accelerated partial breast irradiation via high dose rate brachytherapy. His partial breast irradiation experience includes the use of both single and multicatheter based devices to irradiate the lumpectomy site while minimizing radiation exposure to the surrounding normal breast tissue, skin, ribs, lung and heart.
Dr. Murty received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University followed by a
Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Healthcare Management and Finance from New York University.
He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Medical School.
He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Radiation Oncology at Drexel University College of
Medicine in Philadelphia where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Murty is most interested in identifying and using breast cancer treatment modalities that are customized
for each of his patients. He takes special pride in incorporating the latest medical knowledge
and patient related factors in the treatment decision process, thereby treating the "whole patient."
Dr. Murty also has extensive experience and training in state-of-the-art cancer treatment technologies including IMRT, IGRT,
3D conformal radiation, Cyberknife and Linac based stereotactic radiosurgery, and Tomotherapy.
